In order to express art in film the director and all of the other people working on the film must meet and review what aspects of the film reflects art and if there aren't enough instances of art they would discuss how to add more. the film itself stands alone as art but there are ways that more art can added to the film. the use of color, lighting, set, and tone all work together to enhance the art present in the film.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite artistic expression in film and animation is the story. To show a really solid work, I feel like the script has to be good. I like to express art in film and animation by spending a lot of time on creating a good and preferably funny script. If the words are there, it is difficult to create a bad piece of art.
ReplyDeleteWe try and use different light angles, different types of lights, and different intensities such as use of the spot light, closer and farther key lights, and lights to rid shadows and create an even tone on the green screen. We used different camera angles such as from top looking down and from bottom looking up to give different camera angle effects to help express the different emotions and feelings expressed in the song. Through the costumes used, we displayed the art and fashion forms used during that day and age. Art was also expressed through the song and lyrics - the lyrics expressed how the Founding Fathers felt, along with our own version of the song through our own interpretation of the music and how we felt it should be played on guitar to express the emotions evoked by the lyrics. Altogether, all these components working together through our interpretation of how this music video should turn out truly was an art in itself and we expressed this through our own versions and through how we wanted the film to turn out.
ReplyDeleteThrough creative scripting, plot lines, acting, and production you can create something truly unique.
ReplyDeleteIn filmmaking and animation works, I try to take a minute and visualize my shots first. Then I ask myself how each part of the shot blends and forms a complex, meaningful image. The different fields are lighting, color, depth of field, angle, tone, etc. The way that all these fields coalesce allows me to express art. It's not just pointing the camera at something and pressing "record". It's more than that; it is a carefully prepared shot that ties in many visual aspects and sends a message.
ReplyDeleteFilm is already an art. But another way enhance art in films is color. In order to express one sort of art form in films, you could use color in the film. Warm colors, cold colors give it a sense of emotion. Lighting is also used to express emotions too. Darker would appear more scary, lighter seems more nicer.
ReplyDeleteArt is a from of expression in my opinion. Any sort of media device is always portraying expression through means of a story. The scripting of a movie or animation is as much art as any novel. The visuals of media is as much art as any painting. All the elements in the visuals all help the people producing the product to be able to express themselves.
ReplyDeleteAlthough filmmaking itself is already an art form, it is much more complicated than one would think. Within this art form are various meticulously planned and designed art forms, such as lighting, storyboarding, writing the script, acting, editing, and directing. All of these tasks combine to form a beautiful end product. Each aspect of film is crucial to producing a well-made final product. In the end, the art of filmmaking is actually made up of many different other art forms.
ReplyDeleteExpressing art in films and animations is shown through the characters on set, the lighting, the camera angles and the costumes and stages. Without a good costume the character would not be appealing to the viewer, and leave the viewer bored. However with a good costume and an excellent set, the director can lead the viewer into his mind of what the film or animation should be like and not leave the viewer bored. All these work together to help bring the viewer into the film and not leave them bored. Without the art, the film would be boring.
ReplyDeleteI think that film is an art. Just as traditional art can arise emotions from people, filmmaking, animations, photos, and other digital media can do the same, more so in my opinion. Film, animation, and other digital media all tell a story. This story is enhanced by the use of color, lighting, framing, among others. The juxtaposition of all these elements is what makes digital media so beautiful, and what makes these media art forms.
ReplyDeleteExpressing the true art of a film or animation starts with the script and acting skills I think. So many different things can be done with a script. It can make the audience feel different emotions. Along with that, acting is a large part of it too. Your film can be terrible even with a great script, if the actors can't portray the emotion that's indicated. But also you can have great actors while still having a bad script, and it will be terrible.
ReplyDeleteAlthough there are many forms of art such as music, dance, or singing, one can't forget the beauty of art in films. Digital media can do the same. Whether it;s adjusting the lighting or acting in a film, it all encompasses the art of film. How? Through each of those factors, a story is waiting to be told. The use of color, framing, editing, storyboarding, and directing all combine to form a beautiful product, something that can't be described because it's art. It can be felt on a whole new level. A 6th sense.
ReplyDeletePlanning is really what is behind the art. Planning out an interesting story behind every shot and unique angles/ lighting. Every shot must have its own story and each of those smaller stories must contribute to a larger one
ReplyDeleteTo express art in film there must be a balance between visuals and story/emotion. A film with strong visuals or animations cannot be art without a story or situations that the audience can connect with, and a movie with a good story cannot be art without strong visuals. Visuals are like a shell and story is the filling, and a movie with both is art.
ReplyDeleteYou express art through the characters and shots in the story. In film, art is the most important part of the production that needs to be shown with emotion, and the mood as well. It gives the audience a visual on what is going on in the characters life, and it also engages them more in the story.
ReplyDeleteWhen working with media we use many different techniques to manipulate the audiences emotions. The different uses of lights, camera angle, and sound all come together to make the story come to life.
ReplyDeleteWhen you work with media you can use many different techniques to convey art. By using different camera angles and sound, you can engage the audience and create a more interesting story.
ReplyDeleteIn order to express art through media, we use as much visual effects and many different angles to capture the right mood. The lighting, angles, rule of thirds, are also important to create a perfect picture.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the biggest reason that both film making and animation are art forms is that there is no right or wrong to any situation — no black and white answers. Everything is up to the imaginations of the artist. Additionally, both film making and animations are skills that need to be honed for a long time to perfect and deal a lot with work ethic and technique. Ultimately, every piece is unique and carries the feelings of those who create it.
ReplyDeleteIn filmmaking one can express his or her thoughts or emotions in a visual manner. The intention of the person who creates the story can be thoroughly articulated through the characters and shots in the story. All in all, movies can set a whole tone or mood on a viewer
ReplyDeleteTo show art through film we must balance between manipulating the audience as well as using visuals in the story. The use of light, camera direction, and sound can be used to set the mood and create an artistic set. All these factors contribute to the final product and helps engage the audience in the story.
ReplyDeleteTo express art in a film/animation, you need great shots and a interesting story. You can have a great shots, but a boring story and the film will not be interesting, or, you can have a interesting story, but awful shots. How you portray the shots in the mood of the story, and you have a story that is relatable to the audience and engages these people, is how you get a film/animation that is truly a work of art.
ReplyDeleteThe characters, story and mood of the different movies or animations really show the art techniques, for example, the character's personality ofter reflects how creative or not creative he is thus giving the audience a feeling of what the character is feeling. The mood of the shot, depending on the camera angle also reflects the art techniques used.
ReplyDeleteI express art through a particular character who has lots of room to grow and mature. There should be a dramatic change in the character's life that changes the character's life. As well, I think the ending of the art should have a satisfying ending with the audience realizing what the character has achieved.
ReplyDeleteThere are many instances of art that appear in film. Some examples are: lighting, costumes, backdrops. and acting. These factors add up to make a good film
ReplyDeletePlanning is one of the key aspects to creating an artistic shot or animation; a well thought out shot is going to be more artistically appealing than one that is not planned. Some important aspects of the shots to plan out are lighting, perspective, color, depth of field, tone, angle, etc. Another important thing that makes a good artistic film is the actors and their tone.
ReplyDeleteExpressing art through film and animation is an art because it is very difficult to fully have the audience immerse themselves into your story. Art is expressed when you manipulate things such as lighting, camera angles, through the acting of actors, etc.
ReplyDeleteIn filmmaking and animation, expressing art is based on planning out the visuals you want to be see, the mood of the scene, and what you want to say with the scene. After that is decided you can change things like lighting or camera angles, or in animation things like how bright the scene is and the way objects move.
ReplyDeleteColor is a very important aspect to creating animation and filmmaking. One has to decide what color schemes are in an artistic shot or animation. Lighting is also important for setting the mood. The angle of the camera and rule of thirds are both essential to set a perspective or a view.
ReplyDeleteWhen doing film making i express myself filming and using angles to express emotions and showing the characters feelings through the different types of effects in post production.
